With its proven efficiency in handling erectile dysfunction
of men, Viagra- the little blue pill seems to have taken over the entire ED
pills market. Currently, it occupies a whopping 45% market share, outranking
all the other new erectile dysfunction medicines which have come up recently.
You can also find Viagra online and opt to use it,
but make sure that you have your doctor’s approval for the same.
Some interesting facts about the magic blue pill-
·
Viagra is the world’s first oral erectile
dysfunction medicine discovered in 1998.
·
It was the first oral ED pill to break the taboo
associated with ED back in those days when it was considered a lifelong
problem.
·
Initially, this little blue pill was discovered
to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and a chest pain called angina,
associated with coronary heart disease.
·
This blue pill exists only for men with erectile
dysfunction and not women.
·
Viagra is seen to improve athletic performance
in men due to its ability to supply oxygen-rich blood to the pulmonary system.
Here’s how Viagra works in men:
Erectile dysfunction is mainly associated with the presence
of an enzyme called PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5). This enzyme can hinder the
conversion process of GTP (guanosine triphosphate) to cGMP (cyclic guanosine
monophosphate), that occurs as a result of sexual stimulation. The blood
vessels contract and there is obstruction in the flow of blood to the penile
nerve.
So, the active drug Sildenafil present in this
medication can bind to this PDE5 enzyme, blocking it from degrading cGMP. This
enables the cGMP molecule to actively blend in with the bloodstream, causing
the blood vessels to dilate. The blood flows freely to the penile nerve in the
erectile tissue called corpus cavernosum. This is how an erection can be
obtained with the help of Viagra.
Some basic guidelines for its use:
